It was confirmed today that New Line has chosen TV director Beth McCarthy-Miller to lead the production of “Mean Moms” which is an extension of the 2004 film ‘Mean Girls’ but with a different cast.
If you think of ‘Mean Girls’ when you hear ‘Mean Moms’ you are not too far off, the two projects were both advice books for parents written by Rosalind Wiseman. The same executive producer of the 2004 film, Jill Messick, will also be attached to “Mean Moms”. The film itself has been moving forward slowly since 2010, since then Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot and Jill Messick were all brought on to produce the film along Gibgot from Offsppring.
The story starts the same, a new family in a new place, but it focuses on a new mom that has to deal with the parenting habits of upscale suburban moms.
