San Diego Comic-Con is one of the best captive audiences that a studio can market a movie towards, so it’s no surprise that Lionsgate is sending both “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and “I, Frankenstein” to San Diego Comic-Con this year.
The event starts Thursday, July 18th and goes through Sunday, July 21st and is the Mecca of all pop-culture now. The Saturday Hall H panel will feature actors (none named) and exclusive footage from the film. The movie itself is the highly anticipated sequel “Catching Fire,” and is schedule to open on November 22, 2013 starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. The other film mentioned “I, Frankenstein” is a bit more secretive, that opens January 24th with Aaron Eckhart, Yvonne Strahovski and Bill Nighy. It is expected that new footage will be shown from that movie as well.
Even though more studios are expected to attend, only Lionsgate has officially announced their plans. We will keep you updated as more announcements are made.
