The talented Paul Giamatti has agreed to appear in the season-four finale of the PBS drama ‘Downton Abbey’. The network confirmed the news earlier this morning.
This will mark Giamatti’s first appearance in the series, the actor is set to star as Cora’s “maverick, playboy brother Harold,” according to PBS. Shirley MacLaine, Michelle Dockery, Tom Cullen, Joanna David and Gary Carr are also confirmed for the season four finale of the popular series. “We’re excited that Paul Giamatti will be joining us on Downton to play Cora’s brother Harold, the rather free-spirited uncle to Mary and Edith,” said Gareth Neame, managing director of Carnival Films, and co-producer of the series. “We can’t wait to see him work alongside Shirley MacLaine, who are both sure to upset the Grantham’s apple cart in this year’s finale,” said Neame.
Fans of Paul Giamatti can see him in his upcoming blockbuster role of ‘The Rhino’ in the upcoming sequel to ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ which is scheduled to release in 2014. You can catch the season finale of ‘Downton Abbey’ on January 5, 2014 only on PBS.
