Although Jim Carrey went into his role as “Colonel Stars and Stripes” for the upcoming film ‘Kick Ass 2’ with good intentions, the star has changed his mind about participating in that type of film
In the movie Jim Carrey plays a vigilante that uses a baseball bat and a trusty attack dog to dispense justice to evildoers. He’s not exactly a good-guy but he’s not exactly a bad guy in the film either. It seems the actor has changed his tune about starring in such a violent movie. The actor took to Twitter to say, “I did Kick-Ass 2 a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence.”
He went on the say “My apologies to others involve with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart.“ Also starring in the film are Aaron Johnson as Kick-Ass and Chloe Grace Moretz as Hit Girl. The film is based on Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.’s comic book series. It is rated R we should state and is not intended for minors.
The remarks come just weeks before the film is set to premier in theaters, you will get your chance to watch the film on August 16, 2013.
