Another weekend and another number-one movie, Pixar’s “Monsters University” brought in $82 million in its opening weekend and has topped the box office, bumping ‘World War Z’ out of the top spot.
It seems that the only thing that can take down a zombie and a Kryptonian duo are little animated monsters. According to studio estimates released Sunday, the film debuted in first place with $82 million in ticket sales. Paramount’s zombie movie with Brad Pitt “World War Z,” opened in second place with $66 million.
Even though it has slipped in the box office, ‘Man of Steel’ from Warner Bros. is still soaring high and brought in $41.2 million this weekend. The running total for that film’s domestic ticket sales is now over $210 million. Not bad for a film that has only been out for two-weeks.
