Sandra Bullock and cast of ‘The Heat’ talk about why filming in Boston is so important
The two comedic stars, Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, star in the buddy-cop movie ‘The Heat,’ which is set to hit theaters on June 28, 2013. The world premier took place in Serbia this week, where some of the cast hit the red carpet to talk about the film.
The Heat was directed by Paul Feig, who is seen in the video above. Fieg talks about what it was like filming in Boston, even going as far to say that the town in one of the lead “characters” of the film. Bullock also shares this sentiment, pointing out that the majority of the cast was either born in Boston or is still living there. Having gone to Boston University myself for 4 years, I’m excited to see the film and it’s reflection on Boston culture, there really is no other place in the world quite like it. Adding to the Boston themes are Jessica Chaffin and Jamie Denbo, who have just been amazing in every moment I’ve see them in, and it isn’t hard to see why when you watch the interview. Not shown is Melissa McCarthy and Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) McCarthy of course is the costar of the film but was not present at the premier, to what we are assuming was a scheduling conflict.
‘The Heat’ is scheduled to be released in the United States on June 28, 2013.
