Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani will be bringing the “best stand-up comedy show in Los Angeles directly to you” according to Comedy Central, the network has ordered the new stand-up series to begin later next year.
“The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail,” was announced today by Kent Alterman, President, Content Development and Original Programming, at Comedy Central. The series is executive produced by Ray, Nanjiani, Emily Gordon and Red Hour’s Ben Stiller, Stuart Cornfeld, Debbie Liebling and Mike Rosenstein and will spotlight today’s hottest comedians on and off-stage. Jonas Larsen and Toni Magon are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central.
“Of all the comedy shows on COMEDY CENTRAL that are taped in the back of a comic book store, this will be the best one,” said Ray, Nanjiani and Gordon. “I’m shocked to learn this show will be taped in the back of a comic book store, rather than a comedy store, but we’ll do it anyway,” added Alterman.
