It is being reported by multiple sources, and confirmed by HBO, that actor James Gandolfini, most often connected with the show ‘The Sopranos,’ has died of an apparent heart-attack while in Italy.
Although details surrounding the death of the popular actor are scarce, what has been reported at this point is that James Gandolfini has died in Italy at the age of 51 of what appears to be, at this time, a heart attack. According to HBO, he was on vacation at the time of his death, attending the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily. Gandolfini had appeared recently in “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.” He had been working on Fox Searchlight’s “Animal Rescue” and TV show “Criminal Justice”.
Gandolfini was born in New Jersey, where his most famous character would call home as well. He began his career acting in the New York theater, hitting Broadway in the 1992 revival of “A Streetcar Named Desire” with Jessica Lange and Alec Baldwin.
