Of course this doesn’t make any of this horrible incident any better, but the husband of celebrity chef Nigella Lawson has accepted a police citation and has admitted that he assaulted his wife.
All of this comes after images of Saatchi were posted online, the images clearly displayed Saatchi grabbing Lawson by the throat at a cafe during an argument. That incident happened in London on June 9, 2013. Since then, The 70 year-old Charles Saatchi was interviewed by British police about the incident, in the end Saatchi received a formal police citation on Monday (called a caution), given after someone admits to certain charges. It’s similar to a plea-bargin, or a no-contest, here in tHE United States. The caution does ends the matter with police.
Saatchi is a wealthy art collector and global ad agency co-founder and is the husband of Lawson (52). “Although Nigella made no complaint, I volunteered to go to Charing Cross station and take a police caution after a discussion with my lawyer because I thought it was better than the alternative of this hanging over us all for months,” Saatchi told Britain’s Evening Standard.
