As Lindsay Lohan leaves Betty Ford, her latest film project is moving forward. The upcoming movie, directed by Paul Schrader, is scheduled to premier at the Venice Film Festival this summer.
The film ‘Canyons’ has a lot of people talking, which isn’t unusual for any project that Lindsay Lohan finds herself in nowadays. The buzzed-about project from director Paul Schrader will screen at the Venice Film Festival later this summer. Only two images have appeared so far to promote the film, though both show Lohan looking quite lovely, despite her recent troubles. The image of Lohan in bed looks like it could have been taken from any of the starlets previous fashion spreads, while the one at dinner is a but more subtle.
The film has screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis behind it and the unusual casting has many people doubting the film’s success. That being said this wasn’t a fully-backed studio project to begin with, Schrader, Baxton Pope (producer) and Ellis received $160,000 from Kickstarter to get the film moving. The film itself will open right here in New York, it will hit VOD and iTunes on August 2, 2013 and finally ending in Los Angeles theaters on August 9, 2013.
The film has porn-star James Deen, Lindsey Lohan, Nolan Gerard Funk and Amanda Brooks leading the cast in a film that centers around “Youth, glamor, sex and Los Angeles, circa 2012.”
