There could be a new franchise on the horizon and Warner Bros. and producer David Heyman want Emma Watson to play the 19 yr old female protagonist.
It was Variety that broke the news earlier today but details are still coming in about the newly arranged product. David Heyman has worked with Watson before, he was the producer of the ‘Harry Potter’ films that launched Watson’s career. Details are slim since the production is still so early in development. There has been no director named, or writer named at this point in time. Warner Bros. has already acquired the rights to produce a film based on the best-selling books. Heyman’s Heyday Films will co-produce with Jeff Clifford on the project.
If you are new to the series, this is just one of the trilogy of books that were written by Erika Johansen. They are fantasy series revolving around a young 19-year old woman. The events in the book take place 300 years after a devastating catastrophe has allowed an evil Red Queen to control most of society. considerable power. It has been confirmed that Harper Collins will publish the trilogy starting in 2014.
