It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia brings Josh Groban into the cast
As the FX show ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ gets ready to premier their ninth season, new details have emerged that Josh Groban will be joining the gang for at least one episode.
When joining the cast Groban will play himself, the first episode that he will appear in is named “The Gang Saves the Day.” Josh has been mentioned on the show before, in an earlier episode Groban was mentioned by Sweet Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Artemis (Artemis Pebdani) who are both giant fans of the singer/songwriter (fans of Josh Groban usually call themselves ‘Grobanites’.
In season six the duo goes to see Groban, but Groban wasn’t in the episode and Dee misses her chance to see the singer because (of course) she was sabotaged by her father Frank (played by Danny DeVito). This isn’t Josh’s first work with the cast, Groban worked with Dennis (Played by Glenn Howerton) in “Coffee Town” where he played a barrista at the cafe. You can watch that trailer below.
Groban’s also played roles in NBC’s The Office, as Andy Bernard’s (played by Ed Helms) brother, and was also featured on CBS’ CSI: NY. The show was moved from FX to the new network FXX and will come back in September.
