One of the standout performances at the Cannes Film Festival this year was Naomi Watts portrayal of Princess Diana in ‘Diana’.
The film touches on the life, causes and scandals of the ‘people’s Princess,’ from her early work during the AIDS crises, to her dedication to eradicating the use and removal of landmines. The film was produced through Entertainment One and was directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel. It also touches on a “secret affair” that Princess Diana had before her infamous death in Paris. Stephen Jeffreys wrote the script the film and it also stars Naveen Andrews as Dr. Hasnat Khan.
The film is set to release in the UK on September 20, 2013 and will be in the U.S. shortly after.
