Ever since he left his wrestling career in the past, Dwayne Johnson has had a string of successful movies. Most recently the actor played Roadblock in the sequel ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ and was part of ‘The Fast & Furios 6,’ he is now starting to film Hercules.
The role of Hercules has been cast many, many times over the years, with Steve Reeves (former Mr. Universe) playing the role in some of the more iconic films thanks in large part to the show ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ replaying the poorly produced films on television. Dwayne Johnson has been training for months to get in shape for the role, Tweeting a stream of pictures, and updates on his progress on his official Twitter account.
The film will be directed by Brett Ratner and it is called ‘Hercules: The Thracian Wars’ and it is set to hit films one year from now on July 25, 2013. This particular story of Hercules isn’t from another film, or even a classic tale, it is from a Radical Studios’ graphic novel of the same name. Will you come to accept Johnson as Hercules? If his training is indication, the film may be one of the best yet to tackle the title.
