Dark Souls 2 is easily one of the most highly-anticipated sequels of 2014, and to prepare for E3 2013, Namco Bandai has confirmed that the new game will release early next year.
An exact launch date was not mentioned at this time but the lastest confirmation puts the title in March 2014. Namco Bandai confirmed the date after the game’s marketing and promotional materials began being displayed outside the LA Convention Centre. The large space will once again host the E3 event this year in California. The game was officially announced last December to the cheers and applause of the game’s dedicated community.
The 2014 window may come as a surprise to fans, who were most likely hoping that the game would release this fall since it was announced in 2012. Unfortunately though, games of this nature seem to be announced earlier than fans may be accustomed to. The practice may be a great way to build up excitement for a title but only causes more frustration when a game is delayed or allotted a lengthy development schedule. Expect to see a lot more of Dark Souls 2 at E3 2013 this year.
