The Austin Film Festival is currently finalizing this year’s events and guest appearances. The anual event in Texas has announced a few of the confirmed panelists that will be overseeing this year’s films, here are the details.
This marks the 20th Anniversary of the Austin Film Festival, an event that is scheduled to take place in Texas from October 24, 2013 through October 31, 2013. This year’s panelists include John August (Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Charlie’s Angels), Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs), Stephen Falk (“Weeds”), Nicholas Kazan (Matilda, At Close Range, Bicentennial Man), Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Hand That Rocks The Cradel) just to name a few of the already confirmed guests.
The Austin Film Festival (AFF) is a non-profit organization dedicated “to furthering the art, craft, and business of filmmakers and screenwriters”. The festival is one of the more popular in the industry, and one with a tremendous following. It was famed actor, director and producer Ron Howard who described the festival’s unique dedication to film stating that the Austin Film Festival, “is really about creativity, about trying to help people find their voice. You sense it. There’s a spirit of camaraderie that’s palpable.”
Past participants of the Festival & Conference include Wes Anderson, Robert Altman, James L. Brooks, Sandra Bullock, Joel & Ethan Coen, Russell Crowe, Claire Danes, Robert Duvall, James Franco, Buck Henry, Dennis Hopper, Lawrence Kasdan, Barry Levinson, Harold Ramis, Bryan Singer, Jason Schwartzman, Caroline Thompson, Billy Bob Thornton, and Owen Wilson.
