You may notice a small change to some of your favorite Facebook pages and celebrity profiles. Facebook has begun rolling out “Verified Pages,” allowing people and businesses to ensure that the content you are seeing is accurate and from the correct source.
On a blog post the company wrote, “Today we’re launching verified Pages to help people find the authentic accounts of celebrities and other high-profile people and businesses on Facebook. Verified Pages have a small, blue check mark beside their name on timelines, in search results, and elsewhere on Facebook”.
Twitter has the same system, so it should be easy for people to adopt the idea. Facebook says, “Verified Pages belong to a small group of prominent public figures (celebrities, journalists, government officials, popular brands and businesses) with large audiences. This update is rolling out to profiles as well”.
