A new installment in the immensely popular “Bridget Jones” series is due out this fall. The celebrated author teased a new title and gave a new release window for the third book.
The series author, Helen Fielding, announced the third Bridget Jones novel “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” earlier today. The new book is currently scheduled to release this October. The series publisher confirmed the news with us earlier today (Tuesday). This will be the third book in the series, fans have grown quite fond the lead character, introduced in the two previous books starting in 1990.
A lot has changed in how we communicate, spend our time, even socialize since that time. Fielding said Bridget is older now and her “life has moved on. But, the question is, just how much?” The first two books, “Bridget Jones’s Diary” and “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason,” sold over 15 million copies with combined sales and were made into a two movies (both starring Renee Zellweger).
The official release date for the new book will be October 15, 2013 in the U.S. by Alfred A. Knopf. five days after its British release.
