It has been confirmed that the the young star of ‘American Horror Story’ will be joining the rest of X-Men as the iconic Quicksilver in the upcoming sequel. Here are the details that were released today.
It was the Director, Bryan Singer, who made official announcement earlier today on Twitter. The news came in earlier Thursday morning Peters will portray Quicksilver in the upcoming Fox film, which combines two X-Men franchises. Singer wrote, “Before he was an #Avenger, he was just a REALLY fast kid. Thrilled to say #EvanPeters is joining #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast as #Quicksilver.” For those of you that need to brush up on you Marvel lore, Quicksilver is the son of villain Magneto, he first appeared in Issue No. 4 of Marvel’s “X-Men” comic. Though born of the vilain, Quicksilver later became part of The Avengers, and was joined by his sister the Scarlet Witch.
This could be a problem for the two movies, both Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch will be in “The Avengers 2” but that is part of Marvel Studios not Fox Studios. A studio crossover film combining characters could be done, but it is very, very rare. Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, and the original X-Men trilogy cast of Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore will all return to their roles in the film. Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) will also be in the film, but his role has not been confirmed. All of your questions will be answered on, or before, July 18, 2014. That is when “Days of Future Past” is scheduled to premier in theaters.
