Lea Michele from “Glee” has announced her plans to publish her first book “Brunette Ambition”, an orignal work that is set to release in spring 2014. This would make Michele the latest in a list of actors from the show that have signed book deals.
The other actors that have gone to publishing since hitting it off on “Glee” were Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer and Jenna Ushkowitz. Michelle plays ‘Rachel Bery’ on the FOX musical series, Harmony Books is set to publish the work and it will hit the U.S. and Canada in both print and digital formats next year. The book will be a mix of actual publishing-structures, making it a memoir, advise column, style guide and inspirational poster. Michele herself grew up in the Bronx just north of the Broadway lights that she hopes to achieve in her fictional role.
Michele stated, “There wasn’t a guidebook when I was growing up, that detailed everything I would need to do, and know, to get where I am today,” she added “But I believe I can write one of sorts: Not a how-to-make-it-in-show-business book, but a guide to harnessing tenacity, passion, enthusiasm, and hard work to make your dreams come true.”
Crown Publishing Group at Random House is the apex of Harmony Books, they bought the rights from WME’s Jennifer Rudolph Walsh. Harmony senior editor Suzanne O’Neill will edit the book and it will release in 2014.
