System Shock 2 lands on Steam at a discount for launch weekend

If you have closely monitoring Valve’s digital-distribution store Steam awaiting for the FPS horror-title ‘System Shock 2’, then now is the time to download.

The classic title makes an appearance this weekend at a special price of $6.99 (marked down from $9.99). You have until May 17, 2013 to purchase the game before the launch discount is over. If you are new to the game the there are a few reasons why people are so excited to play it again. First of all it’s made by Ken Levine, co-founder of Irrational Games and Creative Directer on games like Thief: Bioshock, and Bioshock Infinite. This game was also developed by Irrational Games but was also part of Looking Glass Studios. The game was one of the best survival horror FPS-RPG of its day. You will notice a lot of material that would later influence the Bioshock franchise.

You can check out the game and the ongoing promotion on the official store page on Valve’s Steam service. If you are still reading this, I thank you, but you should really go download the game and enjoy one of the classic titles of its era.
