Disney chooses Game of Thrones star Richard Madden as Prince Charming
It may be a small title-downgrade from ‘King of the North’ to ‘Prince Charming’ but Richard Madden is most-likely all smiles after landing the role on Disney’s future project.
Madden is currently seen in “Game of Thrones”, the chart-topping HBO series, and now Disney has confirmed that he will star in the live-action remake of “Cinderella”. The film is being directed by Kenneth Branagh and will have Madden star opposite “Downton Abbey’s” Lily James in the role of Cinderella herself. Also appearing in the film is Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother. The film is being produced by Allison Shearmur, David Barron and Simon Kinberg.
Fans of Madden will also see him in the Discovery Channel series “Klondike”, which is the first scripted series on the network. “Klondike” will be a six-hour miniseries based on Charlotte Gray’s novel “Gold Diggers: Striking It Rich in The Klondike”. Also starring in that miniseries are Abbie Cornish, Augustus Prew, Tim Roth, Tim Blake Nelson and Chris Cooper.
