Fans of ‘The Crow’ series have seen quite a few renditions after Brandon Lee was accidentally killed in the making of the first film in 1994, which was directed by Alex Proyas.
Now it has been confirmed that Luke Evans will take on the title role, this new reboot will be directed by F. Javier Gutierrez for Relativity Media. According to earlier reports the role had always been designed for Evans, though it was never verified until today. Between funding and scheduling conflicts it seemed as though Evans would never get his chance to resurrect the series. It was Deadline who first announced the confirmation. Fans may know Evans as “Bard the Bowman” in ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ which is in post production at this point as well as number of popular films including “The Immortals”.
The film still doesn’t have a release window at this point, other than next year (2014). Evens is currently promoting his work in ‘Fast and the Furious 6’. The Crow is based on the pouplar James O’Barr comic book series.
