Twitter recently warned news-outlets to be wary of any phishing attempts through email, and to make sure their accounts are secure.
Just a few days after that notice the official account for E! Online has been hacked. The account, once hacked, began making statements about pop-culture icon Justin Bieber all of which were false. Shortly after the hijacked Tweets were sent, the Twitter account was suspended. Once again a group named the Syrian Electronic Army, the same group that hacked the AP, took responsibility for the hack. The group has successfully managed to gain acces to numerous high-profile Twitter accounts and websites.
Our account @eonline has been compromised and some incorrect information was sent out. We’re working with Twitter now to fix this.

Once again in light of the attacks, organizations and news outlets question the security of Twitter. The company was rumored to have begun instating two-factor authorization but has not done so at this time.
