For my fellow Android rooters; whenever you go about messing around with your devices, does the overall experience seem a little…blah? Isn’t it boring just to sit there staring at a black screen all the time? Wouldn’t having Ensign Wesley Crusher by your side make things more interesting?
A long, long time ago (within the past few weeks, probably) one Wil Wheaton was having trouble rooting his HTC One phone. As utter despair was setting in, ClockWorkMod developer Koushik Dutta swooped in for the rescue. According to Koush’s Google+:
“Tonight, Wil Wheaton was trying to root his HTC One and failing miserably. He was able to get recovery installed, but couldn’t figure out how to get Superuser installed through recovery (some issue with mounting, blah blah).
Tough bootloaders call for an even tougher recovery. I’m proud to announce the new Wil Wheaton Recovery. Wil Wheaton will offer to root your device if root access is missing.
Will Wheaton Recovery is a limited edition recovery, exclusive to the HTC Ones (AT&T + Tmobile) and Wil Wheatons. Enjoy!.”
And now you can root to you heart’s desire with an image of Ensign Crusher himself watching over you.
