HBO has announced the official premier date for the new HBO Comedy series ‘Family Tree’. The series is set to kickoff in early May. Here are the details.
The series was created by Christopher Guest & Jim Piddock. It will shot with a single-camera, in the popular “documentary-style” that has made Guest so popular. You may remember Guest from his work in “Best in Show,” “Waiting for Guffman” and “A Mighty Wind”. Chris O’Dowd (from “Bridesmaids”) will star as Tom Chadwick. Also featured in the series is Tom Bennett and Nina Conti with appearances by Carrie Aizley, Bob Balaban, Ed Begley, Jr., Maria Blasucci, Matt Griesser, Christopher Guest, Don Lake, Michael McKean, Lisa Palfrey, Jim Piddock, Kevin Pollak, Amy Seimetz, Meera Syal, Ashley Walters and Fred Willard.
The series follows the story of a 30 year old man who lost both his job and girlfriend. This character (Tom Chadwick) inherits a mysterious box, which leads to him investigating his lineage and uncovers a world of “unusual stories and characters”. The series will debut an eight-episode season on Sunday, May 12 at 10:30pm EDT.
