Comic-book fans should recognize the title ‘R.I.P.D.’, but movie goers should know that the popular series is coming to the big screen this summer.
R.I.P.D. is an action film starring Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. The duo are officers in the R.I.P.D. (the Rest in Peace Department). Nick Cruz Walker (Ryan Reynolds) is a newly deceased cop on the bizarre police force who is being trained by Roy Pulsipher (Jeff Bridges).
The three-minute trailer was released earlier today, which you can watch above. The story isn’t too complex, but the series is quite a unique concept. Mary-Louise Parker is also set to appear in the film as Proctor. The R.I.P.D., is the police division charged with bringing escaped souls to judgment. You may remember the 1999 mini-series published by Dark Horse Comics and written by Peter Lenkov. Hopefully the film will live up to fan’s expectations.
