As of right now, two distinct explosions are being reported by many people that were on the scene during Boston’s annual marathon.
Reports are still coming in, with news of another device reportedly being held in the Mandarin Hotel not far away. The explosions occurred just before 3 p.m. with videos showing emergency crews in the area helping victims, a lot of blood on the ground near just by finish line. Those images are appearing on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites show a gruesome scene with dozens hurt from minor to sever wounds. The Associated Press at this moment says two explosions where the finish line, and Bloomberg reports that 12 have been injured so far.
(3:39pm) Nearby neighborhoods, and streets are being evacuated in Boston. New York City is launching anti-terrorist precautions as a safety precaution according to reports.
(3:37pm) All students in surrounding colleges and University are being told to stay in dorms, do not leave school grounds.
(3:52pm) Boston Police has labeled the explosions as bombs, Boston EMS/Police suggests no one leave their current location. Official street sweep is happening now.
(3:55pm) With cell-phones jammed, Police asks users to use social media to inform family and friends of status.
(4:00pm) Police have found “secondary devices” that did not explode, “There were two bombs that exploded near the finish line in today’s Boston Marathon. We are working with law enforcement to understand what exactly has happened.” according to BostonMarathon. Police will be attempting a controlled explosion of one of the remaining devices. All officers are expected to respond to the scene.
