On the heels of the Samsung Galaxy 4 reveal comes two more phones from the Big S…but you might want to stretch first. At first glance, these two new phones would almost seem like new 7 inch tablets.
Behold, the Galaxy Mega!
But wait a minute, you might be asking yourselves…isn’t that just an image of the S4? It is not; though the Mega will essentially be a very large S4. The Mega will come in two sizes, the 5.8 and the 6.3 (these are in reference to their screen size.
Holy mother of phablet.
Spec-wise, the Mega takes a slight backseat to the flashship S4. The 6.3 features a 6.3″ HD (720p) LCD display, 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera, 8/16GB internal storage, expandable microSD storage slot, 3200mAh battery, LTE and HSPA+ radios, and Android 4.2. The 5.8 takes an even further step down with a 5.8″ qHD LCD display, 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera, 2600mAh battery, 8GB internal storage (microSD slot too), and Android 4.2.
Both devices will come packaged with a host of Samsung specific software, such as Group Play, S Translator, Story Album, all the different camera modes, and multi-window.
The Galaxy Mega is currently slated for a May release in Europe. No word yet if we will see this phone in the US.
