Reports point to May reveal for Microsoft’s next Xbox
Earlier this year Sony officially announced the PS4, promising a more in-depth look at the console at this year’s E3 event in June. Now it seems that Microsoft will hold an event of their own sometime next month for the next Xbox.
As first reported by the Verge, Microsoft had originally planned to reveal the next Xbox sometime in April but now it seems that the company had to postpone that reveal until May 21, 2013. Just like the PS4, the new Xbox 360 will be available in time for the 2013 holiday season, but little is known about the upcoming device except for a few hot-topic rumors.
Leading those controversial-rumors is the idea that the next Xbox 360 will have an ‘always-on’ internet connection, meaning that players will have to be connected to the internet in order to play games. Microsoft has not officially confirmed, or denied this tactic at this point. The reveal event is reportedly going to be very similar to Sony’s event, with a few large features and specs being revealed but more information will be released at E3 in June.
