There has been a bit of pushback from Apple in regards to the newly implemented ‘Windows SkyDrive’ functionality, in short Apple didn’t want you to use it.
Apple caused a few roadblocks that caused the iOS version of Skydrive to lack major features that were available on competing Android platforms. Now it seems that the two rivals have come to an agreement, and the new iOS version of SkyDrive is available for iOS users.
This brings the application to version 3.0 and it will allow iPhone 5 and iPad Mini compatibility and features a new UI for easier use. Customers can download photos in full resolution straight to their iOS device, while also fixing a few bugs and improving stability and performance. Photo metadata is now retained when users upload to SkyDrive and opening and saving files to SkyDrive “works better with other apps on your iOS devices” according to Microsoft.
SkyDrive users can check out the new update on the official Apple App Store and download it to their compatible device.
