Twitter updates ‘Twitter Cards’ for use with apps and items

There was a fancy developer event hosted by Twitter this evening and the social-media powerhouse didn’t disappoint the participants. A new set of tools will allow marketers and start-ups a cutting new design to showcase their works.

Tucked away in the heart of San Francisco Twitter displayed the new set of Twitter Cards. Now a tweet can show you the application icon, the name of the app, a short description with ratings and pricing, and will include a link straight to the App Store or Google play. This will free up much needed characters to help the developers share promotions or announce deals.

Away from the app-designs, there are also product cards that could be used. These will also include ratings but will have pictures and pricing as well. Product sellers can use a Gallery Card (which consists of four pictures) which will take the interested buyer to a set of images.
