Kojima confirms Metal Gear V: The Phantom Pain with a first look
Once again the internet was correct, the mysterious title ‘The Phantom Pain’ is in fact ‘Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’. Hideo Kojima confirmed a few details on the upcoming title at GDC 2013.
The panel is still ongoing but we can confirm that during the FOX Engine panel at the Game Developers Conference 2013, Hideo Kojima resolved the ongoing mystery. The new Metal Gear game will run on the FOX Engine, which is why it was debuted at today’s meeting. Kojima himself came out, with bandages wrapped arround his head like the main character in the teaser trailer shown last year, and confirmed the title.
A short trailer was shown, and will be made available later, giving us a glimpse of the game’s opening sequence. The game will be made multiple platforms and there is some question about ‘Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeros’ and ‘Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain’, if they are the same game. The Phantom Pain will star Snake, who has been in a coma for nine years and will be an open world title. The demo was shown running on PC but platforms will be announced in the future.
