New apps hit Xbox 360 Live, fire up the RedBox Instant

Earlier today a few new applications became available for Xbox Live Gold customers, leading the pack of apps is the video-streaming service ‘RedBox Instant’.

The new video-streaming option is available to anyone that is a current Xbox LIVE Gold member. The service offers a ton of movies to stream straight to your Xbox 360. The service will cost you $8 a month but if you are the type that likes to “try before you buy” there is a special promotion going on for a limited time that will allow you to try over 4,000 titles before you commit. As Major Nelson describes on his person blog, “A Redbox Instant by Verizon subscription package, priced at $8 per month for DVDs or $9 per month for Blu-rays”. The Microsoft Xbox frontman also stated, “combines four credits for rentals at Redbox kiosks with the catalogue of streaming titles”

Interested customers can hit up the Xbox Live Marketplace to download the new application. If trailers and videos are more your speed you can also download the new ‘GameTrailers’ application that was also released today.
