Nintendo discusses its Wii U plans at PAX East 2013

The invites and passes for Boston’s annual PAX East convention are burning holes in the pockets of fans and industry professionals alike. Nintendo has confirmed its plans for PAX East 2013, including a large list of playable titles for fans to enjoy.

Nintendo will be offering players a wide-array of titles to show off the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS this year. There will be games like ‘Pokémon: Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity’ and ‘LEGO: City Undercover: The Chase Begins’ as well as the Wii U version of the game ‘LEGO City: Undercover’. Visitors to the Nintendo booth will also be able to purchase select Nintendo products on-site, including special pre-sale opportunities for Luigi’s Mansion™: Dark Moon and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity.

“We look forward to PAX East each year because it is a great opportunity for us to connect with all of our amazing fans,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “With a wide selection of games for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS to play, as well as special activities for individual titles, the Nintendo booth will be a must-see at PAX East.”

PAX East visitors will also get to purchase ‘Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon’, ‘Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity’ and ‘Fire Emblem Awakening’ at the event. There will also be Nintendo 3DS models to purchase including Red, Blue, Pink and the limited-edition Pikachu Nintendo 3DS XL system. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity will go on sale in the booth on March 23, one day before these games become available in stores across the country.

Pokemon fans should hit up the separate ‘Pokémon Gaming Lounge’ which is located in the East Registration lobby area to celebrate the launch of the Nintendo 3DS game Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. Nintendo confirmed with us that there will be giveaways (while supplies last), trivia, photo opportunities and a Pokémon fan gathering on March 24.

There will also be a mug shot photo booth experience to celebrate the Lego titles that we mentioned earlier. Nintendo stated that, “attendees can take fun mug shots in prisoner attire to look just like the criminals that populate Albatross Island Prison in LEGO City”.  PAX East runs March 22-24 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center at 415 Summer St. Nintendo will be in booth No. 448.
