Google honors Douglas Adams and Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy in today’s Google Doodle

Over thirty years ago, the ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ series began as a small radio-show, that show aired 1978. Today Google is paying its respects to the creator of the series, Douglas Adams, with a Google Doodle.

Over the past few decades we have seen the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series materialize as novels, television series, movies, a video game and more. The Doodle stands as a reminder that it would have been Douglas Adams’ 61st birthday today. Adams died in May of 2001 from a heart-attack in California, he was only in his early 50’s when he passed away.

Fans can visit Google’s homepage below to take a interactive Doodle which is dedicated to Adams and his beloved creations. The Doodle does a fantastic job of highlighting a few key aspects of Marvin, Arthur and Ford’s personality using the Doodle’s interactivity to allow vistors to find many hidden gems and nods to the series. You can check out the official Doodle on Google’s homepage below.
