The long awaited new Blackberry flagship smartphone, the Blackberry Z10, is finally slated to release in the US on March 22nd through AT&T.
The Z10 has enjoyed a decent launch so far in Europe and Canada, but its biggest market is still untapped (the US). It’ll be interesting to see what kind of impact the Z10 makes here with such strong customer loyalties for Apple and Android phones.
The true test will be to see if Blackberry can reclaim users in the business world. Advanced reviews for the Z10 have praised its intuitive email client and excellent keyboard. The new gesture based navigation takes a bit of time to get used to, but early reports have indicated that once it becomes second nature, it’s actually incredibly useful.
Of course, the big question lies in the app game; will Blackberry have enough of them? In a world where a commercial exists that touts “There’s an app for that!” Blackberry will need to get that app store filled up as quickly as possible to even begin to think about being competitive.
