Tomb Raider launches today on Xbox 360, PC and PS3 but you can pick up the first of two companion apps that will be released for the games starting today. Made by BradyGames, these apps are the official companion apps for Square Enix’s reboot of the classic Tomb Raider franchise and they are filled with great information.
The first app is called the ‘Tomb Raider: Signature Series Guide’ and is available from Apple’s iTunes for $9.99. The other application is the ‘Tomb Raider: Official Map’ and it will guide you as you hunt down all of those collectables we talked about in our review of the game. The map application will cost $2.99 and will be made available on both the Apple iTunes store and the Google Play store. The map will include the locations of (achievements or trophies, camps, documents, GPS Caches, relics, treasure maps and the challenge tombs).
The Survival Guide is extremely impressive and if you have a tablet it would make a wonderful addition to the game. It features artwork, maps, screenshots, tips for both single-player and multiplayer and it also includes videos to help guide you through the game itself. The guide has some great interactive features as well, including setting bookmarks for easy access when you return to your game, a search feature and is packed with information regarding the title.
