Although ‘Community’ and ‘Revolution’ are both canceled, NBC is bringing back ‘Hannibal’ for a third season. It was unclear if NBC would bring back the series, as it currently ranks rather low on the Friday night ratings guide with just 3.6 million viewers on average.

The show stars Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen and the fact that NBC has canceled the two previously mentioned m series probably had a lot to do with the show being saved. With a few holes to fill in its lineup, NBC will most likely move Hannibal to a better timeslot, or at the very least, use it as a lead-in to a new series this fall.

Hannibal wasn’t the only show saved, NBC is also keeping the freshman comedy ‘About a Boy.’ That popular midseason series stars David Walton and Minnie Driver and also faced an uncertain future after the close of its first season. That’s not to say the show hasn’t grown in support, unlike ‘Hannibal’ the show averages 8.3 million viewers, and seems to be a stable series for NBC at this point.
