With mankind still suffering from the deadly plague that wiped-out most of the population, the Apes are quickly reinforcing their ranks, and uniting under one banner against the humans. On one side of the upcoming war is Caeser, leader of the genetically evolved Ape-culture, pitted in the film against Gary Oldman’s character, who leads a small band of humans that view the Apes as the number-one threat of the land.

“War has already begun,” is the simple phrase that Caesar (voiced by Andy Serkis) states in one of the first full-length trailers released for the next installment to the series titled, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.” This new film takes place after the events of the first movie, which you may remember was called “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” Once again, things do not look promising for Apes or Man.

Caesar has been busy since we first saw him, and the Apes are creating a new society on their own with the Sacred Scrolls, one of the first rules made is simply, “Ape shall not kill ape.” Jason Clarke, from Zero Dark Thirty fame, tries to convince Caesar that war with the humans can be avoided, as he tries to mediate both sides of the war, but it doesn’t look like he will succeed.
