The CW casts a female lead for The Flash, enter Candice Patton Sean Thomas February 4, 2014 Television As the CW’s ‘Arrow’ series preps the ‘The Flash’ spinoff, a new lead character has been confirmed for the show. Candice Patton, fans might remember from ‘The Game’, has been chosen to co-star in the new series. The character that Candice Patton will play will be of Barry (Flash) Allen’s best friend and confidant. Grant Gustin has already been cast as the fast thinking, fast-running superhero. The pilot will be of an origin story, not too different from the CW hit ‘The Arrow’. The Flash already appeared on ‘The Arrow’ as part of the two-part winter finale to get fans excited. Back to Patton, her character will go by the name of Iris West, she is recent grad student and the daughter of Detective West (played by Jesse L. Martin). As you can guess, she will be an eventual love-interest in the series. The Flash is the latest television series that Warner Bros. Television has set for fans.
