Sonya Walger, Penny from LOST, set to join Parenthood Sarah Fox July 11, 2013 Television Parenthood casting has been a hot-topic for the day, shortly after it was discovered that Matt Lauria is in talks to join the fifth season, Sonya Walger is now joining as well. Parenthood on NBC is going into its fifth season, Walger is slated to join the cast in season 5 in a recurring role for the whole season 5 at least. Walger will play Meredith, she will be a single (a relationship status we are sure will change) architect who is working with Joel (Sam Jaeger) on a project that should last two-years. This leads Julia (Erika Christensen) to feel inadequate as a stay-at-home mom and doesn’t like the idea of Joel spending so much time with the sexy, single-upstart. Fans of LOST know Walger as the beloved Penelope “Penny” Widmore from ABC’s hit series Lost. Since then she has been on ABC’s FlashForward, HBO’s In Treatment and USA’s Common Law. All of the Drama starts next fall when the series kicks off season 5, Thursdays at 10 p.m (new time).
