Matt Lauria is close to completing a deal with NBC that would have him return to ‘Parenthood’ for a lengthy story-arch that would stretch through the majority of Season five.
The story will have Amber (played by Mae Whitman) and Ryan (played by Matt Lauria) reunite their rocky relationship on ‘Parenthood’. Reports are coming in that Lauria will return to the show for close to the full season if the deal goes through.
Season 5 is scheduled to be a 22 episode run, if all goes well then you will soon see Laurie on-screen for the majority of that season, dealing with post traumatic stress. Series creator Jason Katims already spoke of bringing Lauria back on the show, but blamed scheduling on the departure. “I absolutely loved the dynamic between (Amber and Ryan) and I would love to continue that storyline,” he added, “Matt may or may not be available next year, so we’ll have to see what happens.”
We of course will keep you updated as soon as a confirmation comes through.
