NCIS will lose Cote de Pablo after next season Sean Thomas July 10, 2013 Television Bad news for NCIS fans, one of the main characters on the show will not be returning and is wrapping up her character on the show. It seems that Cote de Pablo won’t be returning for the full season when it returns later this fall. It’s an interesting move on Cote’s part, the show is after all television’s most-watched series on the air right now. That being said, the actor has decided to branch out and try something new. Cote made the confirmation yesterday (Tuesday) saying that she will no longer be on the show as her character Ziva David. The show is going into its eleventh season. Cote said in a statement, “I’ve had 8 great years with NCIS and Ziva David,” de Pablo said. “I have huge respect and affection for Mark, Gary, Michael, David, Rocky, Pauley, Brian, Sean, all of the team and CBS. I look forward to finishing Ziva’s story.” Ziva won’t disappear instantly, Cote’s statement implies that Ziva will get her own story-arc next season to tie-up all the loose-ends and officially close the book on her character. Whether that will take one episode or twelve isn’t certain at this point. Both CBS and CBS Television Studios also confirmed the news stating, “We respect Cote’s decision, thank her for being an important part of the NCIS team, and for eight terrific years playing Ziva David. Cote and CBS share a great respect for the NCIS audience, and we look forward to working with her and the producers on appropriate closure in this chapter of Ziva’s story.” Cote has been on NCIS since the third season, joining as a series regular and becoming a big hit with the 22.7 million viewers that enjoy the crime-drama. The series itself scores an averaged 4.4 rating with adults 18-49.
