According to reports, Travis was hospitalized yesterday for what doctors are calling complications as the result from viral cardiomyopathy. Travis’ rep is stating that the singer is currently in critical condition and will remain hospitalized until further notice. Randy Travis Is 54 and was only recently diagnosed with the ailment. The viral disease causes the heart to become enlarged and thicken, causing (in rare incidences) the actual muscle tissue of the heart to slowly become replaced with scar-tissue which can lead to death. There has been no further updates to his condition or treatment at this time.
